Have questions?

We have answers!

The Dizzy PT, LLC operates differently than most other physical therapy providers. If you have a question that is not answered below, don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here for you!

  • VRT is an exercise-based therapy designed to relieve symptoms of dizziness and vertigo in addition to improving gaze stability and balance. Treatment plans are based on the findings of your evaluation and specific needs.

  • As a cash-based business, The Dizzy PT is out-of-network and does not accept insurance. This allows Dr. Talley to spend more time with each patient and create a customized treatment plan for you than is not dictated by insurance. Upon request, a super-bill may be provided to you for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

  • The Dizzy PT accepts cash, check, card and HSA. Please make checks payable to “The Dizzy PT”.

  • The Dizzy PT does not provide cookie cutter physical therapy. The number of treatment sessions you need will be specific to your condition and individual needs. On average, patients require 3-6 treatment sessions after the initial evaluation.

  • The Dizzy PT serves Lynchburg, VA and surrounding areas. Depending on your specific situation, Dr. Talley is willing to travel outside this area if necessary. Travel fees do apply. If you live outside of the Lynchburg area ask about local clinic options.

  • Dr. Talley requires 24 hours in advance to cancel a scheduled appointment without a fee. Cancellations that happen within the 24 hour time period will result in a fee of $50. “No Shows” will result in a full service cost fee.

  • For best results, avoid taking anti-emetics (anti-nausea) medication prior to your appointment with The Dizzy PT. These types of medications can suppress your vestibular symptoms and therefore, make it more difficulty to assess and diagnose vestibular dysfunction.

  • As a mobile physical therapist, Dr. Talley uses a treatment table and a few other small pieces of equipment for evaluation and treatment sessions. Not much space is required.

  • To ensure safety and cleanliness, Dr. Talley asks that you keep pets out of the way during the appointment. If able, please keep free roaming pets in another room.

  • No! In Virginia, physical therapists have direct access. This allows Dr. Talley to see you without a physicians referral. However, you will be asked to provide the name of your PCP as maintaining communication between providers helps us provide the best care.

  • Select “Schedule Now” or go to www.thedizzypt.janeapp.com . From here you can select the service you are interested in and select a date/time to schedule.

  • Yes. In order to receive treatment for a vestibular disorder, you must be evaluated by Dr. Talley. The evaluation is necessary to determine if your symptoms are in fact a vestibular issue and a guide for your personal treatment plan.

  • It is important to keep in mind that in order to find the reason for vestibular dysfunction, it is necessary to provoke your symptoms. You can expect to be symptomatic during your treatment session, but over time these symptoms will decrease as a sign that vestibular therapy is working. Dr. Talley will review any other information specific to you prior to treatment sessions.

  • It is important to be comfortable during therapy sessions. Wear something you can move in. VRT is exercised based therapy.
